So, it took a bit longer than planned to start this....

We're in Troyes, France now. It's about a two hour train ride from Paris, and it would have only been 20 € first class ticket! However, we have our lovely (and now validated) Eurail Passes, which I think will be very useful. It's not difficult to reserve a seat, we just have to go talk to a ticket seller. So we can't use the machines, but I think I prefer talking to people anyway. Things seem to be smoother because you can just explain what you need, rather than working through the bureaucracy of the machine. Now, let's just hope that we can communicate with all the people we need to! I'm going to bed soon, but I wanted to give some trip highlights so far! -Delft. All of it. It was such a lovely little town, and a perfect way to start the trip. The hotel was lovely, the people were nice, and the breakfast was good. -Leaving Antwerp. Sad to say, but that was definitely the best part of Antwerp. It was just not my kind of city, for whatever reason. -Our hotel location in London. We were a 5 min walk from the train station, and within walking distance of everything that we wanted to see! We only rode the bus for our theater excursion. -Speaking of the theater, Dirty Dancing was definitely another highlight! The acting was not the greatest, but it was so cute! The music was fun, the accents were bad (especially Johnny's - an Irishman should never try to do an American bad boy accent), and we had fantastic seats! -Our dinner that nice was also amazing! We had a quick seafood dinner and shared an entree and an appetizer. It was perfect. -There was a very nice Australian man in the lobby who chatted with us for a while when the wifi wasn't working. He was quite fun. -We had amazing Thai food on our first night in London. It was this fun, trendy restaurant with lots of communal tables, and lots of good people watching. -We get lost a lot of the time. But, we always manage to find our way back, and we don't get too mad at each other. Or, we at least manage to get over it quickly :) -PARIS! We didn't want to leave. It was so wonderful, our apartment was lovely and in the perfect location, we had a lovely supermarket near us, walked everywhere, spent an entire day in the Louvre, went up la Tour Eiffel, and visited the Notre Dame. Oh, and Eric tried to kill me while we were riding rented bikes around, but we survived that too! -Talking with the cleaning lady this morning when we were leaving the apartment. Apparently the guy who checked us out of the apartment was supposed to leave the door open so she could get in, but he didn't, and she decided to ask us about it. In very fast French. But we did ok! I actually communicated with her, I think. And then this lovely lady helped us find the bus stop we needed. She spoke very slowly so we would understand. So nice. -Lovely hotel room and dinner on our first night in Troyes. I excited to look around the town tomorrow, It's an interesting mix of modern stores and old buildings. I think it will be a lovely place to wander. Wow. A lot of time has passed. But, we still have over 3 weeks left, and we're going to Baden-Baden and then Wurtzburg next! We even have our hotels all booked. But we still have to plan Munich, Austria, Italy, and most of Spain! Hopefully we can fit it all in...

About Me

My photo
I'm a college student who has been lucky enough to travel, relatively extensively. However, I haven't been to nearly enough places. I'm going to be in Europe within the week, only 7 months after returning from my last trip. I can't wait!
